(2) Sam **will be** 13 next week. (3) The phone is ringing. – I**’ll get** it! (4) Don’t worry, Mum. I **won’t forget** my homework. In allen Sätzen geht es um etwas, das **in der Zukunft** passiert. Im Deutschen sagen wir oft „Ich werde …“ – oder wir verwenden einfach das Präsens: „Morgen regnet es.“ Im Englischen brauchst du dafür eine eigene Zeitform, zum Beispiel das will-future. **will-future** = **will** + **Grundform des Verbs** [infinitive ohne //to//] Die Form ist bei **allen Personen gleich**: //I will, you will, she will, we will, they will …// ===== (B) Bildung: So bildest du das will-future ===== ==== Bejahte Sätze [positive statements] ==== In der gesprochenen Sprache und in E-Mails oder Nachrichten benutzt man fast immer die **Kurzform** //**’ll**//. ^ Langform ^ Kurzform ^ | I **will** play | I**’ll** play | | you **will** play | you**’ll** play | | he / she / it **will** play | he**’ll** / she**’ll** / it**’ll** play | | we **will** play | we**’ll** play | | you **will** play | you**’ll** play | | they **will** play | they**’ll** play | ==== Verneinte Sätze [negative statements] ==== Die Verneinung von //will// ist //**will not**//. Die Kurzform heißt //**won’t**//. (5) Ryan **won’t come** to the party. He’s ill. (6) Don’t worry, it **won’t take** long. (7) We **will not** be late, I promise. ==== Fragen [questions] ==== Bei Fragen steht //will// **vor** dem Subjekt. Ein Fragewort (//what, where, when …//) steht ganz am Anfang. (8) **Will** Emma **like** the present? (9) What **will** you **do** after school? (10) Where **will** we **meet** tomorrow? ==== Kurzantworten [short answers] ==== ^ Frage ^ Kurzantwort: ja ^ Kurzantwort: nein ^ | Will you help me? | Yes, I **will**. | No, I **won’t**. | | Will Tom be there? | Yes, he **will**. | No, he **won’t**. | | Will they win? | Yes, they **will**. | No, they **won’t**. | In **bejahten Kurzantworten** gibt es **keine** Kurzform: Yes, I’ll. → **Yes, I will.** ===== (C) Verwendung: Wann benutzt du das will-future? ===== ==== 1. Vorhersagen und Vermutungen [predictions] ==== Du sagst, was deiner Meinung nach in der Zukunft passieren wird. Oft stehen dabei Signalwörter wie //I think, I’m sure, I hope, probably// [wahrscheinlich], //maybe// oder //perhaps// [vielleicht]. (11) I think Maya **will win** the race. She’s really fast. (12) I’m sure you**’ll like** the film. (13) It **will** probably **rain** later. (14) I don’t think Sherlock **will find** the thief. Englischsprachige sagen meistens //I **don’t** think he will …// statt //I think he won’t …// – siehe Beispiel (14). //probably// steht **nach** //will//, aber **vor** //won’t//: //It will probably rain.// – //It probably won’t rain.// ==== 2. Tatsachen in der Zukunft [future facts] ==== Du sagst etwas über die Zukunft, das einfach feststeht und an dem man nichts ändern kann. (15) Lily **will be** 13 in May. (16) The summer holidays **will start** at the end of July. ==== 3. Spontane Entscheidungen [spontaneous decisions] ==== Du entscheidest **genau in dem Moment**, in dem du sprichst, etwas zu tun. Vorher hattest du das noch nicht geplant. (17) I’m thirsty. I**’ll get** a glass of water. (18) Waiter: “What would you like?” – Karam: “I**’ll have** the pizza, please.” ==== 4. Angebote und Versprechen [offers and promises] ==== Du bietest jemandem deine Hilfe an oder versprichst etwas. (19) This bag is so heavy! – Don’t worry, I**’ll carry** it for you. (20) I**’ll help** you with your maths homework, Ruby. (21) I promise I **won’t tell** anybody. Wenn du ein Angebot als **Frage** formulierst, benutzt du nach //I// und //we// meistens //**shall**// statt //will//: (22) **Shall** I **open** the window? [Soll ich das Fenster öffnen?] ===== (D) Besonderheiten und typische Fehler ===== ==== Englisches will ist nicht deutsches „will“ ==== Das ist der **häufigste Fehler**! Englisches //will// bedeutet „werden“, nicht „wollen“. ^ Englisch ^ Deutsch ^ | //I **will** go.// | „Ich **werde** gehen.“ | | //I **want to** go.// | „Ich **will** gehen.“ | I will a new bike. → **I want** a new bike. [Ich will ein neues Fahrrad.] ==== Kein -s, kein to ==== Nach //will// steht immer die **Grundform** des Verbs – ohne //-s// und ohne //to//. She wills come. → **She will come.** He will plays football. → **He will play football.** We will to visit you. → **We will visit you.** ==== Die Verneinung heißt won’t ==== I willn’t do it. → **I won’t do it.** Achtung: Verwechsle //**won’t**// [wird nicht] nicht mit //**want**// [wollen]! ==== will-future oder going to-future? ==== Beide Zeitformen drücken Zukunft aus, aber es gibt einen Unterschied: ^ will-future ^ going to-future ^ | spontane Entscheidung (gerade eben entschieden) | Plan oder Absicht (schon vorher entschieden) | | Vermutung oder Meinung (//I think …//) | Vorhersage, für die man schon ein Anzeichen sieht | (23) Ruby: “Oh, the dog wants to go out. I**’ll take** him for a walk.” → spontan (24) Ryan: “I**’m going to visit** my grandma on Saturday.” → Plan steht schon fest (25) I think it**’ll be** sunny tomorrow. → Vermutung (26) Look at those black clouds! It**’s going to rain**. → Man sieht ein Anzeichen. ==== Kein will nach if ==== In einem Bedingungssatz mit //if// steht **kein** //will//. Dort benutzt du das //simple present//. Das //will// kommt nur in den anderen Satzteil. If it will rain, we’ll stay at home. → **If it rains**, we**’ll stay** at home. ===== (E) Zusammenfassung ===== {{englisch:will-future-infografik.png?nolink}} * **Bildung:** //will// + Grundform des Verbs – bei allen Personen gleich. * **Kurzformen:** //’ll// (bejaht) und //won’t// (verneint). * **Fragen:** //Will// + Subjekt + Verb? – Kurzantworten: //Yes, I will.// / //No, I won’t.// * **Verwendung:** Vorhersagen und Vermutungen, Tatsachen in der Zukunft, spontane Entscheidungen, Angebote und Versprechen. * **Signalwörter:** //I think, I’m sure, I hope, probably, maybe, perhaps// * **Achtung:** Englisches //will// = „werden“, nicht „wollen“ (//want to//). * **Kein** //-s// und **kein** //to// nach //will//. {{tag>english grammar tenses future}}
